I posted this about a week ago:
WTH? I got off Yasmin 2 months ago and I have started gaining weight since then! :-o I have always had pretty much the same weight since 16 years ago but now after getting off I've gained 5 pounds in 2 months. This sucks! And trust me, it's not my fault that it's happening.
And the weird thing is that I eat half the sweets and candy now versus when I was on the pill. Is the weight gain going to stop? Am I going to loose these extra pounds then? How long can I expect it to take before it levels off again and my body is back to normal?
I hate that I even started taking this pill in the first place. :-(
I have also been working out, I swim in the ocean for about 30 minutes at least 3 times a week. Now I eat half of what I used to do while on the pill. I feel full for a whole day on one meal only which is really strange. Yesterday I had pretty much a kid size meal for lunch and that's all I ate all day and I wasn't even hungry when I woke up this morning.
The pounds are adding on and I don't understand it, I have never had weight problems EVER before and like I said I do eat pretty healthy (vegetarian) and I don't eat much candy/desserts and I also work out a few times a week. So far I have gained about 2 kilos or 5 lbs. This sure sucks and I wonder if I'm ever gonna loose them again. :-(
I quit taking Yasmin 2 months ago, what about you?
Hi I posted awhile back ago also about all the horrible side effects and feeling crappy. I was on yasmin, but was also taking lexapro for my moods and wellbutrin for the anxiety that may have been caused by the yasmin....go figure! Needless to say none of the pills really helped any of the symptoms I was having. I've been off all meds even yasmin for about 2 months or so and I feel great and also have my sex drive back! The weight part of it well lets just say I was hoping for the pounds to fall off, not the case. I havent done anything different dont eat alot and yet the weight just has a way of creeping up and its driving me nuts. Now depending on your age, anything past 30, its only gonna be harder for us women to stay in tip top shape as im learning because I am 36. I am so frustrated at this point, but perhaps, and I'm hoping that our bodies are adjusting because I was on it for like 5 years and I'm sure that it will take some time for us to get back to somewhat of a normal status(whatever that is lol). I am the most impatient person on this earth and like yourself was considering going back on, but I havent felt this good in a long time and a little weight I can handle right now and so should you :) we only have 1 body and we need to take care of it and obviously yasmin was not doin our bodies good. I think what might be a good idea is to get blood work done to make sure that hormone levels are ok along with everything else. If that doesnt work then I can just cry!:) In an earlier posting someone had mentioned a certain vitamin I believe that would help (if it was the case) to put our thyroid back into normal mode, because that could play a factor in this also. And sometimes it wont show on a blood test because the levels have to be high and sometimes all it takes is a low level to put your body out of whack. Stay patient and keep posted of how youre doin. Take care!
