OH MY GOSH CHANA .... I have the SAME problem!!! I was at the dentist yesterday too for a ROOT CANAL and then he couldnt do it because my tooth roots look "calcified" and he wants me to see a periodontist to confirm they can't do the root canal. I haven't had ANY problems with my teeth in over 20 yrs!!! I had the Mirena removed in Oct after 1.5 yrs of torture and 40 lb weight gain ... and still struggling to drop the weight now. I am finding a lawyer ASAP - this is ridiculous!!!
I too have had EVERY side efffect. I have been told by Dr. that it can't possibly be Mirena. Chana, EVERY time I go to the dentist, I am told that because my gums are slightly swollen, red, and bleed when irritated that I MUST have a deep cleaning, which insurance only covers once a year. I brush and floss regularly, and dentist looks at me like I am lying. I read on another site that dental/gum issues are a side effect of these hormones (just like gums and teeth are sensitive during pregnancy).
I am near 40, have four children and thought Mirena was a godsend. I had one for full five years (didn't make connections that problems were from Mirena) and had second one removed today after 8 months. I look forward to being ME.
Hang in there, the New Year will be here before you know .
