I have used Advair 250 for a few years now and have noticed a few of the same symptoms as the other posters, but my main concern is whenever I go off the drug for too long my asthma gets drastically worse. I have become extremely dependent on this expensive drug that I can barely afford and I fear it is just weakening my health while only mildly suppressing my asthma. I feel stuck with this drug now. I feel like a slave to it. It's an awful feeling.

I was just researching whether or not anyone else had trouble breathing after stopping Advair. I take the 500/50 and have been on it for 3 years. Sometimes I can't afford to refill it when I run out and I need to use my nebulizer within 2 days of stopping Advair. I'm worried that I will never be able to get off this drug. At least I know I'm not the only one experiencing this crappy effect.

Awful feeling, huh? Im in the same boat. Just spent the past two days trying to get a refill on it (have been out of it for weeks, so you can imagine what kind of shape I've been in).. The thing that has really sucked has been dealing with a new insurance company that doesn't cover any of the medicine that I NEED. So frustrating! This is the reason I always put off getting refills for it. Once my refills are out, I gotta go to a Dr. and spend another day explaining that I NEED A REFILL! Augh!! Not to mention the price of it.

One thing I'm most worried about is it getting taken off the market due to these side effects. Then where will people like us be? In a world of hurt, just like when they took away CFC inhalers. Bummer.

I have experienced the same thing. I had read that advair was not good for you, so I decided to stop taking it. After two months of only using my albuterol inhaler I could not longer climb a flight of steps, I was always out of breath and could not breath that good. Before I started taking advair I was not like that at all. I finally had to give in and go to my doctor who could not believe I had stopped taking the med, he assured me that advair was safe to take. I seriously want to change to another medication and get off of this, I have seen the ad for the same type of medication but it has no steroid in it, I am wondering if that would be the reason for being so dependent on this drug. I just have a terrible feeling that this drug will be recalled in the very near furture and we will be the victims of a bad medication, a fatal mistake. And the drug companies and doctors will not be held responsible for their actions. We will be the losers.

I am troubled by the same fact. I have been using advair for approximately 6-7 years now, when I did attempt to go off of it because I was worried about the content of steroids in the drug, I was unable to climb a flight of steps after not taking the med for two months, it was terrible. I proceeded to go back to the doctor who was astonished that I had went off the medication, when I told him my thoughts, he said that I was being foolish, that all drugs have side effects but he feels that the outcome for me is better, being able to breath better. I truly believe that in the very near future this drug will be recalled and we as users were misled into believinig that the side effects were not all that bad.
