Your post wasn't very supportive, and I think with insurance laws and doctors' codes of ethics, many of the women here most likely did do significant research, and tried Mirena because they thought, upon working with the doctor, that it was a good option, only to learn it wasn't for them. Their symptoms and/or side effects are not absurd at all. Like you, I have had wonderful results with the Mirena, for all intents and purposes, however, I have also developed a profuse, foul smelling discharge, that can only be attributed to the IUD because my gyno has tested me for everything under the sun, and "I'm clean." After searching deeper, I learned that lots & lots of women have had the exact same experience as me. If nothing else, I've learned that my issue with the discharge is not absurd, and I got the IUD to enahnce the quality of my life. I'm now having it taken out for the same reason. Congrats on your success, but have some empthy for those who have not been so lucky.
this thread is about women that have or haven't done research to see if they are a good canidate for the mirena. i did my research as well and after 5 months i have had some things going on with me that are not normal for me. looking through this thread and other posts on different website i have found women with similar problems. these women are trying to help others out by posting syptoms that mirena doesn't list as possible side effects. please don't discount the fact that these women are having difficulties and are in pain.
