I am very sorry to hear about your roommate's death. My daughter also died from Yasmin's side effects (pulmonary emboli in her case) during her third month on Yasmin. I post here to warn people about the serious, possibly life-threatening side effects from taking birth control pills. It's important that we consumers of pharmaceuticals educate ourselves about the risks and the symptoms of side effects. If you or someone you know takes Yasmin or any other birth control pill I hope you will carefully READ the insert. KNOW the symptoms of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVTs) and Pulmonary Emboli (blood clots in the lungs). Do not assume that all side effects are simply a nuisance or irritating. Some of them are fatal.

Please accept my condolences in the death of your roommate. I know how much it hurts to have someone close to you die. Please take good care of yourself.

I am soooooo sorry about your friend. I just posted something last week about my daughter - she is just not herself, only 17 and a senior trying to function at school - it has been a horror show. she has been on yaz for a year and since then incredible stomach problems, severe constipation, the list goes on and on. She cannot go anywhere because she never knows if she is going to have a reaction to all the miralax, mag citrate, etc and have to go to the bathroom in a hurry. It has been horrible. She has complained of chest pain, and she just never feels good - lots of anxiety - did you go off the yaz?? I just pulled her off it and I am trying to get her into see a gyno asap

that is just terrible to hear about your roomate. this is an awful drug and should be banned. if you have a chance, can you plese describe to me more of her symptoms? i just want to know how similar they are to what i am experiencing.

i'm assuming you are in college, so PLEASE tell as many girls as possible to stay away from this drug. doctors are prescribing it too often to too many women, it is a healthy drug for anyone to take.
