I am 41 and have been taking Yaz for about 6 months. My skin is much clearer and that is nice, but on the other hand I have had a continuous headache for two weeks now. Just in case, I took meds for a sinus infection but the headache has stayed... so now I am being treated for migraines. The problem is: the meds for migraines don't work. I am wondering now if it is the Yaz. When I first started taking it I got headaches at the beginning of each new packet, but now it's non-stop. After reading some of these posts, I am worried that coming off it will also have side effects, but it can't be anything (I hope) like the pain and fatigue associated with a long, drawn out headache. I am deeply scared that this headache will turn into a stroke or a tumor or something.

I am 40 years old and started to take Yaz 2 weeks ago for PMDD. I hoped this pill was going to work for me, but sadly it didnt. I immediatey noticed that my abdomen became extremely distended, and it seemd like over night i had gained alot of weight. I am a healty person who exercises and eats healthy but on this pilll I was always hungry. I also experienced on several occasions a heaviness in my chest, like I could not get enough oxygen and heart palpitations, which scared me the heck out of me along with pains in my lower legs, that REALLY scared me. I also experienced problems getting to sleep and problems waking up. Never had those problem prior to taking Yaz! I usually have alot of energy and ambition but that was toally zapped. I just had no desire to do anything. (I was even dreadding Christmas and I love Christmas!) I usually work out apx 4 times a week and eat healthy, so this is horrible for me. As if that was bad enough developed slight acne when this has never been an issue for me, either. My nipples are sore and the thought of having sex horrifies me because I feel like crap and just do not have the desire to because my body feels like crap too. It's awful. I am angry, agitated and pissed by how this has adversely affected my life. I have been off it for 2 days now and just cant't wait to feel like my old self again. My advice is stay as far away from this pill as you can. I think it is dangerous. Oh yes, forgot to metion it has been 2 days since i have stopped taking Yaz and i am getting cramps but no period. I am so disgusted.

The bottom line ladies is there is NO such thing as a safe pill of any sort. Pharmaceutical companies thrive on feeding us drugs for one symptom then you have several side effects from that pill and need another drug for that new symptom or symptoms...dah, dah, duh, dah, duh...It just goes round and round. So, what do you do? What do you take? First off, if you are over 40 get your tubes tied. It's not a great idea to bare children after 40 anyway. Second, there are natural ways to balance your hormones and many clinics are now popping up around the country to help woman do just that. The ALL natural way is the ONLY healthy way to go. Study up on things, don't just put drugs into your body before doing the research. It's your life and your worth the time it takes to do the research.

Best Wishes!
