I have read your message. May I suggest a different kind of IUD... I am a huge advocate for the paraguard IUD. It is made of copper and has no hormones. The only side effect that I experienced was heavy mentrual periods. It is very similar to the Mirena but there are less side effects. This form of birth control lasts for 10 years. I had mine removed recently and it did not hurt coming out. The reason why I had mine removed was because my 10 years were up. I wanted the Dr. to put another one back in. I had fibroids and heavier periods so my Dr. suggested that I try Mirena or have a hysterectomy. I opted for hormone therapy. I have to tell you I liked the paraguard IUD much better. I would talk to your docor about the paraguard before getting your tubes tied. It is just as effective and it only takes 10 minutes to insert.
