Being tired is the first symptom then comes mood swings and depression. after that u get yeast infections, hair loss, weight gain, migranes, fevers, chills, then u need toget it removed. the mirenaand some women work good together sooo stick it out as long as you can but if the symptom start to get worse then you need it removed ASAP!
I just had mine taken out today, after having it in about 1 yr, 3 months.
It sort of snuck up on me - the tiredness, that is. But by mid-summer I could sleep away at least 20 hours a day, more if my roommates wouldn't poke me to make sure I was still alive.
My doctor disagreed with me about it being the IUD, but I pushed and made him take it out. He was getting ready to give me a second rx for depression and if that didn't work, check my thyroid. I said, look, if it were depression wouldn't I: 1. have had response in energy changes after being on Prozac for months, and 2. actually be pretty sad, aside from the bitchiness I get around PMS time?
I'm getting back on ortho tricyclin, which is what I had before this IUD business (but the convenience of the IUD was just so tempting!). I hope this gets rid of the fatigue.
If you want, you can email me at rainingseptember@gmail.com in a week or so and I'll tell you if I feel any difference.
