One week ago tomorrow, I was diagnosed with BOTH a yeast infection (my first) and a bacterial infection. The doctor gave me the generic forms of Diflucan and Flagyl. I think this medication is interfering with my sleeping. I've been taking 500 mg 2x/day for a vaginal infection and I can't sleep at night. I take the pill between 7-9am and 7-9pm and since I've started, the only night I was able to get any sleep was the night I took some Benadryl. To boot, I'm STILL having problems with vaginal itching and I don't think the Metronidazole has helped my infection at all. ARGH!!!

Metronidazole is usually prescribed for bacterial infections, not yeast infections. I have had both infections at the same time and have always had two different kinds of meds. Maybe you should ask your doctor for the one time yeast infection pill. its a pink pill.
