I can agree with so many of you who've shared your experiences - for about a year I felt more like 'the old me' on Wellbutrin, but in the last six months I've become progressively more fuzzy-minded. It scares me that there are times that I worry that I won't be able to finish a coherent sentence... like I'm speaking in slow motion waiting for individual words to filter through the fog of my brain so that they can be spoken. OK, it's certainly not always like this - and so far only my husband seems to have noticed, but I dread muttering the wrong thing in a business setting. Perhaps worse than this, in the vanity that is our present reality, I've seen significant hair loss from the top of my head - my squeaking clean pate is SHINY in the mirror and I hate it!!! It's winter now, but I can't wear hats all the time, and I just don't happen to work in a 'fashion forward' industry where I might hope to make hats a trend for all to follow. I will be weaning myself off of Wellbutrin and looking into oral and topical arnica b/c I'm nervous about trying Rogaine and begging stuck with that regimen for the rest of my life. The women in my family all have lovely hair; I'm 40, not 80!!

I have been taking this med for over 6 years. I also feel "fuzzy' at times and lost for the correct words to finish a sentence! In meetings while speaking I draw a blank, as if my mouth is disconected from my brain I have the correct though but cannot get it out. Scary. My worst side effect is unbelievable hot flashes.....They are unbearable latley.... anyone feel the same?

I am having similar problems with WB. I have been taking 300mg of generic wellbutrin XL for about 2 years. I recently started doing some research on side effects because I always feel dazed and out of it. It never feel like I am awake—it’s like I am in a constant fog. I consistently feel groggy, can never think of the correct words to say and have trouble concentrating on even mindless tasks. I spoke to my doctor and he said that I can go off of it; that sometimes antidepressants can have these types of effects on a person. How long will it take for the brain fog to go away? I really hope that these are symptoms from the medication and not something else because I don’t want to live like this anymore. I’ve began to taper down—I’m supposed to take 150 mg for a week and then go off of it.

I'm so sick of being dazed and confused!!

Like many people on this site, I too have had weird side effects. My hair is thining, my heart sometimes skips beats, I have strange, vivid dreams and recently, I have had my hands itch for no good reason. I was prescribed XL to quit smoking and started in Dec 2008 with a generic. I started out with 150 and moved to 300mg a day - I felt great, no side effects until Feb. However, I have not quit smoking although I have seriously cut down and the desire to smoke is not as great as it once was. This week I went to pick up my refill and noticed the pills were different. I learned that the pharmacy was now carrying a different generic. This made me uneasy, so I did a little research on this new pill. I am glad I did - I made the pharmacy replace this generic with the real thing. That may have been a mistake - I am now very agitated (did not happen with generic), have racing heartbeats and headaches. I am also not sleeping. Between the hair loss, insomnia and racing heart, I think I would rather smoke!
