I took 4 of the 10, 500 mg daily dose of Levaquin that was prescribed to me. My heart rate was so fast that I thought I was going to have a heart attack! And now I have this awful rash all over my body. It's been 4 days since I 've had the last dose and it's not getting better. Does anyone have any idea when this itchy rash will go away?

It's been 4 days since I've stopped taking this horrible drug and I still have a rash like I rolled in a poison ivy patch. I only took 3 daily doses of 500 mg and then 3 doses of 250 mg for a total of 6 days. The rash has moved down my body and now is a welty blistery rash on my thighs and behind my knees. I went through a bottle of Benedyrl in 2 days, applied calamine lotion and now found a antibiotic ointment that is helping to heal the welts. Never taking this med again.

I broke out in terrible hives and a rash after taking Levequin and had it for over 6 months. All doctors ruling out it was Levquin. I say they have no clue as the Levequin was the only change in my routine. I landed in the hospital because the hives attacked my throat and it was closing and had to take zyretec until the rash and hives went away. Good luck

Hi, what you are having is an allergic reaction to the medicine...a couple of years ago I had a Raging Urinary Tract Infection and that is the medication they put me on and the very next day I had a rash of little red dots all over my body...I then found out that I was allergic to it all I can tell you is don't take anymore because your more than likely allergic to it...after I got out of the hospital a couple of days later the rash finally went away

I had the same reaction to levaquin when it was given to me in the hospital.I broke out in a rash and it itched like crazy. They flushed the IV out and gave me benydryl to stop the itching.I have been admitted to the hospital 4 times with what they keep saying is brocnchitis, but when discharged there was no infection.Days later I was right back in the hospital not being able to breath.I`m wondering if levaquin is causing all my problems.
