I had the Mirena IUD in September 2008. At first I thought it was great. No cramping, regular period... everything was normal. Now, I'm calling my doctor to take it out. I feel depressed, angry, emotional... I feel like I'm crazy. I'm acting like I'm 15 and just got my period.
I thought I was the only one going through this but I guess I'm not. Thank you to everyone for posting this information. All the insight has made me feel like I'm NOT crazy... it's just the Mirena IUD.

I seriously thought I was the only one experiencing side effects that were severe until I talked to an old friend. she bleeds for like 3 weeks or more straight. sometimes she bleeds for a month or more. we both have had severe mood swings irritability and back pain. I wish you luck on getting back to normal
