Hi there,
I had the mirena fitted on the 9 September 2008. Have had a period on and off every couple of days - not heavy but very annoying. Now suffering from chest pains and have had extremely itchy skin. My scalp is also very dry and the moment and my hair has been falling out. Booked in to have it removed next week. I don't need it for contraception but had it inserted to try and sort out my heavy periods. They were heavy but only lasted 4 - 5 days and compared to what I've experienced with the Mirena - I can cope with that. I just want to feel normal again. Have felt like I have been on auto-pilot with no emotions since having it. I want my monthly mood swings back at least you know it's over soon. I wouldn't recommend this device to anyone and can't wait to have it removed.
