I was on Loestrin 24 for 9 months and thought it was wonderful....until I was recently hospitalized for 2 weeks with blood clots in both lungs. The doctors determined that it was the Loestrin. If anyone knows of a class action lawsuit against them, please let me know.

My doctor just put me on Loestrin24fe. I had no idea about this blood clot issue. Are you sure it was the Loestrin? Did you have any symptoms before you were hospitalized? Do you smoke?

My cousin had stroke from clots in the brain. I am currently looking for a good law firm to represent her. Could I have more details on your situation?

Last October(2008), I was also hospitalized with bilateral lung clots due to Loestrin. I have never smoked. After months of Coumadin therapy and repeat scans, I have only one small residual spot from a clot.

I just got out of the hospital yesterday for two blood clots in my lungs. The doctors said they were caused by Loestrin 24Fe. I do not smoke. I do not have a family history of blood clotting disorders. I had no other symptoms related to the blood clots. I had only been taking Loestrin for about 5 months. I was hesitant to start the medication, but my doctor assured me it was safe and said it was the best choice for me. I am worried about what will happen with these clots and the possibility of recurrent clots. I'm wondering how everybody here who had blood clots from Loestrin is doing now?

I was on Loestrin 24 for 2 months and was hospitalized for a week with several blood clots in both lungs. I was diagnosed with pulmonary embolism and the doctors said the pill caused it. I do not smoke, have no history of clots and am in great physical condition. I now have to take blood thinners for at least 6 months to make sure that I do not get more clots. My husband and I were planning on starting a family very soon and we can not now due to the fact that the blood thinners cause birth defects. Not to mention that this all occurred one week before our wedding and I almost missed it due to being in the hospital. I am also looking for information that anyone might have on a class action lawsuit against them.

I was on Ortho Trinessa for 6 years straight and had absolutely no problems with it until the last year when my period began running really long and heavy again (about 8 days long), so I told my OB about this and she recommended Loestrin 24Fe to me. I was reluctant to take it because it seemed like such a new medication, that the results of it hadn't come out yet and I knew that it worked differently than the Ortho Trinessa, which made me uneasy because I've had reactions to medication before (klonapin and effexor - they're unrelated but my body doesn't seem to be able to take much). So I'm on my 3rd month now and I am still paranoid about taking it, and after reading all of this I think I might just go off it. I was aware of all of the side effects of birth control to begin with, but after just doing a simple google search of 'birth control lawsuits' it seems like all of the new birth controls would pop up.
Does anyone know if you can just come off of birth control after almost 7 years of taking it? I was also wondering what the ages of everyone that got the blood clots were? I'm 23 and I think they say after 35 that it becomes alot more likely to get blood clots and heart disease.

I used to be on a generic brand of birth control in which I got my period for 3 out of the 4 weeks. It was horrible, so I told my doctor and she recommended taking Loestrin24. I started taking it in September of 2008. I didn't get my period ever since I started taking Loestrin (for about 9 months.) Then, in April 2009, I had the worst headache I have ever had and I started throwing up. I was sent to get a CAT scan. Later on my doctor called me and told me to immediately go to the emergency because I had a blood clot in my brain called cerebral venous thrombosis. The picture of my MRI showed that the right side of my brain had all these white branches all over, which was good and showed the blood flowing through my brain. The left side of my brain was completely black, totally clotted. And I am only 18 years old, and like I said before, I have never smoked before. I have heard about the lawsuits for Yaz and I was wondering if there were any for Loestrin?

I also was on Loestrin 24 for three months I developed a DVT blood clot in my leg and was in the hospital for 6 days while in there I had a PE in my lung and the Doctors said it was the birth control. It has now been 11 months since I have been out and I still cant do the things I used to my leg just wont let me, Stairs hurt really bad and it makes me so sad. All I hear about is the law suit with Yaz but what about Loestrin 24?

My sister was on Loestrin for many years. She fractured her foot and and within 3 months she died from a PE. Don't know if the Loestrin caused it or what. The autoposy report stated that there were many blood clots in her leg. She never smoked and was in the military so she was pretty active.

I was taking Loestrin for 4 years and loved it until I had a massive stroke in 2007when I was 27! it totaly paralyzed the left side of my body. I never smoked ate right and worked out regularly. I am slowly recovering but still don't have functional use of my arm! this has been a rough2 years to say the least! I thought this was supposed to be a safer choice in b.c. pills...guess not!
I am also looking for a lawsuit I'll help you if you help me!

I am now able to walk again with a very bad "limp" and I don't have functional use of my arm. doctors say "good luck"! I am still devastated and hope this doesn't happen to anyone else! terrible affect for someone who was being responsible. I'm hoping there is some sort of lawsuit that turns up! let me know
