Back in 1998 the FDA issued a dear doctor letter, alerting physicians to Churg Strauss syndrome and vasculitis associated with Singulair, this letter is available on the fda website, just search singulair, one of the symptons id,elevated eosphilla, with this being the case a simple blood test after the start of singulair, could determine who could and could not safetly take this drug, print the letter and show it to your doctor, file a report with the FDA dont take no for an answer.Keep fighting shout loud
Your poor child! I hope you find the answers you are seeking and that your son makes a quick and thorough recovery.
Please visit us at www.parentsforsafety.org and help us raise awareness of the terrible side effects of Singulair.
Best wishes to you and your family.
MY CHILD WAS ALSO PUT IN THE HOSPITAL FOR STOMACH PAIN AND QUIT EATING FOR 3 AND 1/2 WEEKS THEY TOOK A BIOPSY OF HER STOMACH AND ESOPH THEY DID NOT SEE ANYTHING SHE HAD SEVERAL ULCERS IN HER STOMACH AND HAD TO BE TREATED WITH PREVICID FOR 3 MONTHS THEN SHE WAS ABLE TO START EATING AGAIN.SHE HAD BEEN ON SINGULAIRFOR 14 MONTHS.I TOOK HER OFF THE MEDICATION SHE HAS BEEN OFF SINCE OCT AND SHE IS JUST NOW GETTING BACK TO HERSELF.NO MORE OUT BURST OR BEING AFRAID OF ANYTHING.SHE IS MY HAPPY 6 YR OLD AGAIN
My grandson is 5 yrs old and has been on singulair for about 2 yrs for severe allergies and asthma. My daughter heard about the possible side effects today and is concerned. My first response was that all medications have some adverse reactions for some people but the problems your child has experienced, struck a nerve. My grandson always had such a great appetite until the last several months. He has complained of feeling full after just sitting down to eat. I thought it was his age (appetites do change) but now I'm concerned. My concern is that his allergies or so bad that he was constantly suffering asthma attacks so bad that he had to be hospitalized. He is on several different medications for both allergies and asthma. I think we will be talking to his doctor on Monday. Take care and thank you.
