I am concerned about your symptoms. I am not a medical person but, sadly, I have learned a lot about blood clots and Yasmin since my daughter died over two years ago. She died of pulmonary emboli (blood clots in her lungs) in her third month on Yasmin.
Have you had a blood test for blood clotting? It's called a dDimer. It will show blood clotting anywhere in the body. There are also other scans your doctor can order. You mention "can't breathe" and "chest tightness." If you mean a shortness of breath this is one of the symptoms of pulmonary emboli. Another symptom of pulmonary emboli is a feeling of anxiety. Please be assertive about getting checked out. Ask yourself WHY are you still taking these pills after two years if you feel so horrible? What is the up side? You have two small children and I'm sure you want to be around to raise them without feeling horrible AND depressed.
My daughter started with feelings of anxiety and mood change shortly after starting on Yasmin. She was told "it took a while to get used to Yasmin." She then developed shortness of breath, pain on deep breathing but not severe pain, and "funny little bloody noses" in the morning. She was told it was "just anxiety." Three days later she died.
I urge you to Google "Pulmonary Emboli" and "DVT" (deep vein thrombosis) and learn all the symptoms of both. The incidence of blood clots rises when women are on birth control pills and some say the incidence is even higher with the "third generation pills" such as Yasmin.
Take care of yourself. I wish you well.
