Wow, I just have to say thank you to all the women who have posted. I finally feel like I'm not crazy!! I had Mirena inserted April of 08, when my son was 13 weeks old. Afterwards I started to gain weight and have severe depression, which was diagnosed as Post Partum Depression. I have been on meds after meds and nothing is working. I have ovarian cysts - and apparent common side effect of the darn thing. When my precious baby boy starts crying, I can't even hold him because my body goes into some sort of depression overdrive. It's awful. I have been struggling with whether or not I should have the mirena removed. After reading this site, I will definitely be calling my doctor tomorrow. This is ridiculous. I have never felt worse in my life. I weigh MORE now than I did when I was pregnant - and I eat well and exercise regularly. Wow. I really hope taking it out helps...because that's my only hope left.
