I had it removed today. The removal is much LESS painful than the insertion. I was hesitant to get it removed because I didn't want that pain again. Thank god I finally came to my senses. The tiny pinch you feel when it comes out is to be celebrated! If you have your doubts and are experiencing side effects commonly mentioned thread after thread, get it removed. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. It is the only one you have! The convenience of the mirena does not surpass the problems that it comes with. Looking forward to having my libido back, the odor, headaches, bloating, weight, joint/muscle pain, and overall generally crappy feeling gone. I had it put in to reduce my hemorrhaging periods. I'd prefer them over the issues I've had over 22 months. I should have listed to my body 8 months ago, when much of the problems started to bubble to the surface.

I had mine removed today too! I felt so happy walking out of the clinic. I love my dr but she said that my symptoms weren't most likely from the mirena but she said maybe I could be getting an affect from it. Can't wait the the bloating to go away! That was the worst.
