Hi angelina! I had my iud removed on Tuesday. I had it in for 8-9 month, it was the worse 8-9 months of my life. It was like being pregnant again. To answer your question I started bleeding around Wednesday afternoon. SO a day after removal. It is like a period, only the cramping is almost non existent compared to the cramps I had every single day for the past 8 months.
There are many women complaining of side effects and for some reason mirena, and doctors deny any of these. It's just a little too ironic that when I had my Iud removed this week I found out 3 of my friends had theirs removed as well recently. Other symptoms I had were, cramping, fatigue, extreme bloating!!! I looked 4 months pregnant and I am 5'0 104 lbs so thats scary! depression, headaches, and terrible pms that started 2 weeks before the actual period... among other minor things that may or may not be related. The thing is... until the iud is out, its hard to tell where these symptoms are coming from. I really thought I needed to go on antidepressants! And couldnt figure out why i was so bloated! All the symptoms disappeared within a day and are getting better with each day!
Congrats to all of the intelligent women who listened to their bodies and did what was right for them... Doctors make mistakes too, and in 10 yrs we may be hearing about terrible things happening to IUD users.. I hope not tho
