what the hell did he prescribe it for? the FDA has approved it for only one use- a fall back drug for epilepsy if the first line of drugs don't work. however, the drug company couldn't make enough money just selling it to a few epileptics so they pressured their salespeople into trying to get doctors to prescribe it to anybody for anything and everything.
one of their salespeople had a crisis of conscience and blew the whistle. there was a massive fraud lawsuit and the drug company paid a many million $ fine.
however, doctors had gotten into the habit of prescribing it and those old habits die hard. i would really do some research and question my doctor as to why he was prescribing it. if you arne't an epileptic, it might just be a waste of your $$ and subject you to it's side effects with no benefit to you
Thank you for your input. I don't want to take an epilepsy drug. He prescribed if for nerve damage in my shoulder blade. I'm gonna have to talk to my Doc before I take anymore. Thanks.
