Everyone is different. Some people feel better soon and others . .. it takes time. I stopped taking that poison in 1 yr. now and I still have some side effects. I continue to take several natural products to help them and control my cholesterol. Yes, it is a good idea to do the test you mentioned. I take a natural product that keeps the level low.
Sorry to tell you, there does not seem to be an instant fix. Some people come right within a short time others weeks, months, others (me) are still not right after 13 months, BUT hugely improved. The amount of statin along with the time you took it, I'm sure are factors. Accepting your situation, pain relief and supplemenents seem to be the only tools available. I no longer trust doctors or give a hoot about cholestrol as it seems just as many people who die of sudden heart attacks have low cholestrol as those who have high cholestrol. Also if it is of any help to you after ceasing statins, for a while my symptoms actually worsened B4 they improved. be assured you have taken the right step ceasing taking the statins and poisoning yourself. All of us victims feel for each other and for the countless thousands of people who are suffering adverse statin effects but don't know it is the statins causing them. You should come right again. Best to you from New Zealand.
It can take a long time to recover from lipitor. Months to years is what can be expected. Some people recover quickly, but I wouldn't bank on that. Just give it more time.
As far as cholesterol goes, Half of the heart attacks happen to people with low to normal cholesterol levels. In addition, nearly half of first time heart attacks happen to people with LDL "bad" cholesterol well below target range. Despite the cholesterol count in the blood, something we still have yet to discover is causing fatty plaque build up in arteries no matter what the cholesterol count is.
Homocystien had been another suspect in heart disease, but then a huge study couldn't find a relationship.
We really don't have a definitive cause for heart disease, so it all comes down to what each individual chooses to beleive. Draw a card, any card. maybe you will be the lucky winner.
With lipitor, you have an ABSOLUTE RISK REDUCTION (ARR) of about 1%. That means 99 other guys have to take the drug with you for a period of 3.3 years to prevent one guy from having a bad event.
Its kinda like the lottery.
Hi, I have been having the exact same problem. I was put on lipex a week ago and only lasted 3 days on them, because I was so dizzy and woozy, even when I lay down my head spins. I have been off them almost a week and still Im all over the place. Really woozy and dizzy. Have you had anyone contact you with some of the same side effects ? does anyone know how long this will go on? thank you
