Good that you stopped taking Lipitor. It will probably take more than 2 weeks to decrease your side effects. I stopped taking this poison l yr. ago and I still have side effects. Keep in mind, all drs know is to push drugs. . .most of them don't know about the side effects, nor do they care. The drs. and drug co's have a HUGE racket. There are many natural products and alternatives . . . instead of taking all the RX"s (poisons) you are taking.
Check the side effects of Lisinopril as well, I think joint pain with dry cough may be mentioned.
Hi,
I have been taking 20mg of simvastatin for 5yrs now and have experienced the following, headache, mental dullness, muscle pain, and numbness in my fingers, joint pain and difficulty swallowing. My doc rubbished the idea that statins could be the cause, he just switched types of statin to see if there was any improvement, but to no avail.I stopped taking them when my supply of the drug ran out, and after about three weeks the symtoms abated and I am a lot better now. I will stay off them permanently.
Regards, John.
stop taking the lipitor immediately! it took me about 10 days to start recovering my mind with the help of CoQ10 supplement. lipitor caused major memory loss and low cognitive skills. my doctor of 20 years didn't believe me. i no longer go to him. changed to a holistic doc. lowered my cholesterol by 140 points in one year using supplements: fish oil (1 TBS) twice daily, evening primrose, kyolic garlic, and ground flax seed. dropped red meat except on special occasions, ate lots of green vegetables. i'd rather have a heart attack than lose my mind. also, studies indicate that statin drugs don't statistically increase your change of heart attack, but that's another topic.
I also am on Lisipopril, Lipitor, and Plavex. I also have just recently received a stint for poor circulation in my legs. PAD they said. I was also recently diagnosed with being a borderline diabetic. My question is that I too have coughning spells especially after I eat or when lying down. It feels as though my throat has gotten smaller. If I'm lucky phelgm comes up, and it's real thick. Which helps sometimes. However my concern is what happened to me this morning. I was sitting at the table having breakfast when I began to feel dizzy, whoozy, and my vision became so blurred I thought I was going blind right then. I broke out into a sweat and was short of breath. Do you are anyone knows what could have caused this. I took my blood glucose test and it was 121 which is not too bad. I also took my blood pressure which was 85 over 84. I not sure, but isn't that real low? Would the combination of the Plavex 15mg and the Lisipopril 25mg 2x daily is the reason of the low blood pressure. Two different doctors gave me the medications. Maybe the doses need to be adjusted. Can anybody help me with this?
I stopped my Lipitor 20 mg on Feb 2. for the same (almost all) reasons. I am still not ok. How are you now ?
