I can't believe what i'm reading. Had a merina coil fitted four years ago. After 18 months, and a few false pregnancy scares, tiredness, and depression issues, I decided to have it taken out cos I'd convinced myself that it was causing my hassles. My doctor poo-pooed this idea, and I felt quite stupid. Had it replaced 18 months ago because it was so convenient, and I just wanted to forget about contraception.
Well......the same symptoms occurred again, along with very sore boobs again, which I have only ever have with a coil, NEVER any other time. So up to the doctor again. My tiredness is unbearable, really debilitating, and blood tests have come back all clear and fine. I even had a pregnancy test because I have had classic pregnancy symptoms, which until today, didnt realise is very common when you have a merina fitted.
Again, made to feel silly. Doctor said the hormones are localised, and dont travel round the body...... I'm definately having it removed. Why are we made to feel that we don't know our own bodies?
Great forum, the internet truly is fantastic, and its reassuring reading about people who are experiencing the same symptoms as me, and realising that i'm not actually so stupid after all!!!!!
