I used to receive a Kenalog injection once a year to treat my skin. It worked great. Best drug, nothing compares to it. After a few years it worked so great that I didn't have to receive the shot anymore. This drug is far too helpful in the medical field for it to be removed because of its side effects. Never had a problem with getting a hole "in my butt" either... Not that I let A LOT of people look at my butt anyway. There's a reason why you're told what the side effects could be, if you don't like them then tell the doctor you don't want to take the medicine. If you're a model, then have it photoshopped out... We know now that's what they do anyway. You give young girls bad impressions thinking they have to be perfect, when you're not.

I have to reply to the posting by djgrrl, #38626.
I’m happy for you that it worked well, but you have to understand all of us were not aware of deformation of our bodies. We are regular people, who cares about our body and being a woman it is very important to feel good about oneself. Imagine seeing holes in your buttock or on face like it happened to some girls. If it did happen to you then you would not be saying what you’ve just said. I feel pain for others and it is very upsetting that doctors DID NOT TAKE SIDE EFFECTS SERIOUSLY and we are paying the price, not them.
I will strongly recommend stay away from Kenalog and do your own research on any treatment.

djgrrl- Please don't be so glib toward these people who have posted about their kenalog injections. You are very lucky you haven't experienced the trauma of having a part of your body become deformed overnight, at the hands of a trusted physician and a medication that is supposed to help you. I personally was NOT informed that this was a side effect prior to my kenalog injection.Yes, kenalog relieved my allergy symptom, but I would have gladly taken the oral form or something else as opposed to having my backside forever deformed. BTW, I am not a model, not that it matters. I am a female athelete who's body has been damaged, 1/3 of my right buttock now caved in- nice, huh? It not only looks ridiculous, but it also affects my performance due to pain in my hip and down my leg. This is not about vanity here- So until you experience it please refrain from making us feel guilty of vanity on top of everything else.
Best of luck to ya.

I agree.. I am glad you did suffer any side effects.. but for those of us ( my face caved in on one side which was quite a trauma) who have suffered and were not informed ( I think a consent form should be signed before you receive treatment) it has been scary and demoralizing. You also need to know that many people get kenalog shots on their face and then out of nowhere on their 20th shot the area dents... which could last for 2 years! Then you have the choice to wait or spend thousands of dollars on filler until it heals. I was fortunate enough to begin saline infiltration right when the atrophy showed up.. it has helped and it works on any area of the body possibly cutting your recovery time in half. :)

To the person who said don't get if you think the side effects are too bad b/c its a great medication. What about me who was never told of the side effects. I am sure you wouldn't be happy if you had a dent in your ass
