I only lasted 5 months with the Mirena. I didn't have pain like you did....I had a lot of other side effects...but I cannot imagine that you've been in this kind of pain since Nov of 2007...over a year...and your Doctor says you should think long and hard before removing it???? I would say find another doctor right away and have it removed. You are WAY past any adjustment time. I'll bet your doctor wouldn't put up with such pain for over a year. What is to think about? It makes me so mad to even hear of a medical professional saying that to you. Take care of yourself.

You have to demand that your doctor removes this. I had to do they same thing...they did not want to remove mine. I had the same kind of pain and it was cysts on my ovaries from mirena. I had one so big that they wanted to remove my ovary. That was months ago and i kept mine in because I thought I would give it a chance to regulate since its so costly. That was a big mistake and I am suffering for it now. Each month my symptoms got worse and worse. Strange symptoms that I didnt even relate to mirena until I found this site. My most recent symptom is my hair thinning so I would have it out as soon as possible. I wish you good luck.

I got that evil thing back in October of 2008 and got it out exactly three weeks ago today. The side effects I had (similar to yours and all the others) are totally gone now. I'm back to normal...I believe I had the "crash" the several days after I got it out, and I still felt bad for about 10 days post removal, but each day got better and better.
