I have had the same side affects that you have mentioned. I am starting to get a complex with the odor and I am thinking of having my mirena removed too. I read a post about someone removing it themselves but dont know if I should do that. I hate to pay to have it removed. I am almost 40 and I dont think I am going to have anymore children so I am thinking of just having my tubes tied.
I feel better now knowing that other people have had the same symptoms.
Me too! Nothing I do helps. It's not constant, it comes and goes, but I hate it and the way it makes me feel!
I have had my Mirena since Sept 2005. I loved it at first, but over the past year, I have started to experience the same increase in acne and odor. I have gone to my doctor a couple of times, and he will just tell me it's a vaginitis. He will write a script for it, it goes away for a month or two, and then it's right back. It's very uncomfortable and quite embarrassing, even though my boyfriend is very understanding about it. Now, I am seriously thinking about removing this thing, but like you, I think it seems to be great birth control.
