I have been on lamictal for a year & it has been the best. However I feel like I'm stupid on it. I took some a semester off of college & when I returned I was not the same. I feel like a dumb idiot. I have always been great at math & now I cannot catch on. Now what used to take me approx 2-3 hours to read a chapter in a school book, it is taking me around 8-10 hours. I accidentally forgot to take my meds last night & I was able to focus & understand my readings. I read my chapter in 2 hrs. I took it a few hrs ago & have been reading the same page for the past 2 hrs. Does anyone else have this problem?
Hi. I'm glad you posted these side effects. I've been on lamictal for 3 years. Recently I've been trying to find out why I can't read well and I can't understand things well. I can no longer finish a book. I get lost in the story and I'm so slow. I was an honor student in high school and I was not born this way. I'm really upset now because the doctors have been lieing to me and telling me "it's not the medication" Clearly it is and now I just have to hope there was no permanent damage.
