Has anyone with hair loss/lack of regrowth seen improvement after...

Has anyone with hair loss/lack of regrowth seen improvement after having Mirena removed? I'd love to hear from woman that have had hair loss/regrowth problems (that wasn't due to post-pregnancy). This is my biggest complaint. I've always had very thick (annoyingly so hair) and now I look like a different person. My scalp shows everywhere, my hair is thin and I don't have any regrowth to even give me hope. I don't have a history of female hair loss in my family. I've had my IUD since August and my last baby was 2 years ago. My Dr. says it's stress...but wouldn't she be stressed too if she was balding at 35! I'm looking for any confirmation that the hair growth gets better. Other side effects include, ocular migraine (I thought I was having a stroke!) vision issues and new eye floaters and anxiety. I can live with most of these, but my hair loss is killing me! Any good news out there from those with a removal? -Iwantmyhairback

I too had tremendous hair loss with the Mirena and as soon as I got it out, within 2 or 3 days, it STOPPED falling out suddenly! It takes a while to start growing back but you will see little short stubs around your face where it is starting to grow back. Also my hair is not as dry and brittle and for the first time in a YEAR my hair is finally shiny again!! (I posted all this a couple times over the past 2 weeks since I got mine removed)

I am still battling hair loss 8 months after removal. My hair loss turned into a condition called lichen plano planaris which is a scarring hair loss condition. I am on a steroid rinse twice a day and men's rogaine to try and regain hair. I think it finally may be under control but I have been fighting this for the last 15 months. All of my other symptoms (many, many!!) went away fairly soon after removal. Stupid %$#^& Mirena! Good luck.

My hair loss stopped within 6 months of removal. I have tons of new growth too. I too, had thick hair prior to getting the mirena. I even went to the dermatologist over the loss. He advised me that it could take up to 6 months for my hair to return to its normal loss pattern.

I've had mirena for about 3 months and have had different side effects on and off... intense cramping / spotting/ headaches/ dizziness/ leg and knee pain. But not all at once and it would come and go. Some days, I'd feel fine and think ' It's great. I'm just over thinking.' Other days, the cramping would make me feel like going to the doctor immediately to get IT out. Basically, I've been in a wait and see situation, trying to give it more time.
But today, when i was in the school bathroom with fluorescent lighting .... that's when i noticed.... and i mean really noticed. My hair part is no longer really a part. It is the beginning of a "bald line". I don't think anyone else has noticed, but I took a picture of the top of my head, and upon inspection it's obvious.
I'm only 33.
Needless to say, I'm making my doctor's appointment tomorrow.
Goodbye Mirena. I certainly hope the damage can be undone.
