Has anyone experienced shortness of breath and upper chest pain after removal of the Mirena. It has been 12 days since I has it removed and this started happening on day 5. Its it the mirena crash or what? What did you do to correct this problem if you experienced it? Please let me know. All my other symptoms have subsided but this has occurred. My anxiety was so bad to the point I felt my throat was clising but ever since I got it removed its been a lot better except this chest pain and shortness if breath has occurred.

Im sure it is just your body adjusting (part of the "crash"). Your body is reacting to the sudden wtihdrawal of hormones and chemicals. To give you an example, a lot of ladies have insomnia with the Mirena. I did not have that problem. However, AFTER I got the Mirena out, I had terrible insomnia right away! it lasted about a week and got better and better. It has been 2.5 weeks now and I still wake up easily at night where as I used to sleep so soundly like a rock. I may be sleeping lighter but at least I am sleeping now! I can tell that eventually I will be back to sleeping like a rock again! and you will get over the shortness of breath as well. OH also, I noticed that even after the MIrena was removed I was still having heart palpatations/anxiety but thats gotten better too. Hang in there!

Hi, I have had the Mirena in for about 16 months and have experienced all of the side effects to include blood clots in my legs and my breast. If you are experiencing shortness of breath please see a doctor .
