It's probably a combination of the two! I would consult your OBGYN and see what they would suggest. There is a good chance that they will say it has nothing to do with the IUD...at least that's what I've typically been hearing from most people on this site and others. Post partum is a serious thing too though. I haven't had a lot of issues with post partum, but I have had most of the typical symptoms of the Mirena. If you have something to compare it to...like prior pregnancies or something, it would probably be helpful to use that as a guide for what to do in this situation. If you think it COULD be the IUD, then don't waste time and just get it out. Nothing is worth risking your child's mother for. They count on you to be there, and if you don't make the effort and do everything in your power to be your whole self, then your children suffer. I really feel for you! Good luck! Talk to somebody!!!
You had him 13 weeks ago and you are JUST now getting these symtoms?? Its the MIRENA! Get it out. Dont wait. Dont ask your OB because they dont listen and they will tell you it cant possibly be the Mirena. They will tell you its post partum depression then they will prescribe you anti depressants (which wont work and will have horrible side effects on your baby if you are nursing). Listen to your body and get it out. Even if you were having some sort of post partum I can tell you that this Mirena will make it much much worse!! Be pro active and do soemthing quick.
YES what she said...(mrsbarett)...
Listen to your body...My suggestion is to get it out, your doc will probably tell you it's not the Mirena, but I have been on medication for PPD for years now (my daughter is 7.5) and I got the Mirena in OCT of 2008 and got it out 4 weeks ago because of the gradual onset of side effects that made my life miserable to the point of wanting to stay in bed and do NOTHING. Now I have my life back, my energy, my sex drive...no more foggy, no more headaches...should I go on????NO MORE DEPRESSION and CRYING like I had before getting it out (my DOC was ready to prescribe a different anti depressant!)
