I have always had and currently have the side of effect of extreme fatigue associated with the use of synthroid and now Armour thyroid replacement as well. Whenever my tsh reaches normal levels I become increasingly fatigued. Now I an hardly stay out of the bed and yet my levels are normal. I have Hashimoto's Disease and am menopausal with severe insomnia to cloud the issue. But the fatigue associated with thyroid replacement is longstanding and has occurred for about 15 yrs. For many years, I would stop taking the medication because of it. My doctors do not believe that the fatigue is related to Synthroid which I find utterly frustrating. Will be looking for another endocrinologist soon. Has anyone out there experienced this side effect of extreme fatigue? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I have been on Synthroid since 2002. I had my thyroid removed due to a cold nodule. I still did not feel good, and matters got worse after a complete hysterectomy in 2004. I am now 39yrs old and struggle to maintain weight at 145 for 5'3. I was at 166 back in 2002. It has taken me years to lose weight. Suddenly, I have just feel apart. I am so tired, my hair is falling again, my skin is dull, I ache all over and can't sleep. I have no energy. I pray for strength and have been made to feel this is in my head. FOLKS, its not when I had chest pain so bad I passed out and my 9yr daughter calls 911. TESTS gallore only to say "your overtired and overworked and stressed". OHHHH I am so MAD. This happend on July 24th and its now Aug. 13th, I still feel BAD actually worse. I look like a chemo patient - I am scared to death I am gonna die. I have gathered all my Medical info and sent to Mayo on Aug. 12th. I hope to have an appointment with at Mayo fo Jax by next week. I have started reasearching and I have found a very common response and reply "TIRED and ACHES" and everyone takes SYNTHYROID. I truly believe this DRUG is BAD not good. I am out of gas and have no tank to hold more. I am so frustrated with every doctor where I live - I keep asking and have become very DEMANDING - "Is this related to my THYROID"? I get the same HOP around answer - we just got to get you level. Well, its been FREAKING almost 7yrs whats it gonna take me having a heart attach, liver damage, adrenal shutdown - what... I have read these posts and I am relieved to know I am not the only PERSON who feels like this. I really started to question my mental well being only. I hope Mayo of Jax. can get me regulated and help me. Has anyone been to Mayo Clinic Endcrinology for help?
