Hair growth seems to be affected either by extra hair growing in wierd places (like some women get when they are preg) OR hair loss (again like women who are preg).i was one of the hair loss people. But I know a lot of preg women who grew beards! The Mirena definately makes you feel pregnant, you get all the symptoms. this is because of the artificial preg hormone, progestin. It tricks your body into thinking its already preg. so you dont get preg. its supposed to just have a local affect on your uterous but I BEG to differ! Maybe in SOME women but there are thousands whose lives it has nearly ruined. So yes, sudden hair growth or loss is a side effect of the Mirena.
Thank you! I really just can't believe all the woman on here that have been going through the same thing. Its so great to know I'm not alone, but then again it is so sad that the doctors aren't more educated on this. I went to two doctors in two different states that told me nothing , even when I asked, because everything usually having to do with hormones effects me a little different. Thank you so much for your reply! By the way, I'm getting mine removed Friday morning! Take Care
