Ladies, It has been 76 days since I had Mirena removed. I feel incredible. The last week, I want to sing, play, laugh, love. It's GREAT! Don't get me wrong, I had two crashes since having it removed and they were bad--right around ovulation/PMS time, but each cycle keeps getting BETTER and with each I feel more like the old me. I know what normal is like, because I was normal before Mirena and am starting to feel that way now. THESE ARE THE DAYS I YEARNED FOR WHILE I HAD THE MIRENA when I felt bipolar. I expect I could crash again. I did have two of those suckers for 5 1/2 years, but I can handle it, because it's not everyday like the Mirena days. Be well and HAPPY

Thank you for such an uplifting post! I was especially happy to hear that you "crashed" around PMS time because that is what I am doing now. I am feeling bad for the first time since I got it taken out and I was worried but at the same time thinking and hoping it was just pms. Are you saying that each PMS will get better? I hope they arent all this bad

For me each PMS has been "different." First I felt mental/emotional symptoms moreso than physical ones. Then I felt physical symptoms most like insomnia, backache, fatigue--followed by mental/emotional--depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. And never really same symptoms. But, they DO seem to be getting better each go round. And the time in between is much improved each time. I felt good right after removal, but even better with each cycle.
I know a lot of women have said that mirena seemed to amplify PMS once it was removed--this could be what you are experiencing. Some posted that all of a sudden around the fourth period after removal it got worse, but then much better--regulated. Maybe this around the time their hormones regulated?
We're all different, but it's good to be informe, be prepared, and be supportive of one another.
Best wishes to you.
Lucy
