Your OB/Gyn's are prescribing this pill to get a kick-back from the pharmaceutical rep. Loestrin 24 is TERRIBLE. I've been on bc pills for over 15 years. I was switched from Neocon (which I LOVED) to Loestrin because I'm "over 30 and I smoke". I've been on this pill for a year and just took myself off last month. I've GAINED 30 LBS! I was a size 6 when I started this medication, I'm now a size 10-12! I appreciated the fact that I had little to no periods while on this medication, but the headaches, fatigue, mood swings, and weight gain are just NOT WORTH IT! Please do yourself a favor, if you are taking this pill and have no problems then great! However, if you experience weight gain, mood swings, break-outs, etc. Tell your doctor NO MORE! They can certainly prescribe you something better and forgo their little kickbacks from the pharm reps. I have no idea how I'm going to lose this weight and I'm so depressed because this has happened to me. If you relate at all to this then save yourself from ending up where I am and get off this pill!

I'm so glad people are posting more side effects from Loestrin BC product. As I previously mentioned, we all know our body-regardless of age. If you knew how you were before the pill vs how you are now; that will exlpain it all! I agree, the only good thing and I will miss it; is the very light 1-2 day cycle or no cycle most of the time-BUT, I won't miss it as much as I miss my shoulder length-thick hair I had before this pill. I'm going to resume taking my mulit-vitamin, biotin and EFA oils; these supplemental nutrients will continue to rectify the problems this pill has caused regarding my hair. I was taking these supplements before getting on the pill almost a year ago and I never had any issues with my hair, weight or overall emotional state.
It would be interesting for everyone to give an update after a few months to report what differences have been noticed. I'm sure it will take a few months to clear out of the system; but in time I'm hoping to see some changes!
