I read with interest several of the posts here. I have been on Lipitor for about 5 years. I have been experiencing leg pain, back pain, neck, and hand pain for likely 4 of the last 5 years. I have arthritis, I thought. Two weeks ago I ran out of Lipitor. I read several other forums where Vitamin C and Omega 3 were suggested as a possibles to replacing the Lipitor along with generous amounts of water. I said, What the hell, I will give that a try. Within days of stopping the Lipitor, most all the pain has subsided to the extent that I have not had to take any other Pain management medications at all. I was prescribed Perocet for the pain I have been experiencing. Two weeks ago, I had a tough time opening a bottle of soda, or even a relish or pickle jar. Today I can! Coincidence, I think not!!

PROOF BEYOND ANY DOUBT that your quality of life has been criminally negligently stolen from you. What about all the poor older folk that had the last 10 or more years on this planet in a rest home in miserable unnessecary pain. This whole scenario is so wrong and this cruel inhumane criminal negligence has to be thought of along the lines of pharmacutecal civil genicide. We are certainly pleased you have been able to save yourself and best to you for your health.

Knowing you were taking Lipitor, your doctor’s failure to diagnose the source of your leg, back, and neck pains is scary. Get a new doctor.

congrats for freeing yourself from the tyranny of these terrible drugs. we are alll so brainwashed that when we feel bad, we attribute it to age rather than the drugs. i hope you tell everyone you know

Good that you stopped taking this dangerous drug. Unfortrunately, All that drs. know is to push drugs. . . . . the most scary thing, they don't know about the side effects or don't care. The drs. and the drug co's have a HUGE racket. VERY SAD . . . we are the people that suffer.

Looks like we are all suffering from life altering side effects all in the interest of lowering cholesterol so we may stick around a little longer. I too got off the statin roller coaster. With some of the experimenting the doctors did with different combinations of cholesterol lowering drugs I ended up with 2 very expensive "vacations" in the emergency room! End result: they all treated me like I was crazy, but after the drugs were out of my system I was out of the woods. The problem still remained, what to do about the lowering of my cholesterol, this is something I take very serious with my family history. I was on a mission that led me to a company called Unicity International. Since I needed to lose a few pounds in the process I started taking their Bioslife Slim (do not confuse this with any products sold in the store with the name "slim" in them) This is purchased strictly by distributors. That was on July 7th, 2008. I started to wean myself off of the Zocor I was on (debilitating muscle spasms in my back and neck) Well, I started losing inches after the first week. This went on and on until I had lost a total of 23 inches and 20 pounds. All from this delightful orange drink that I take twice a day before I eat. I also suffered from constant constipation, well not anymore, I go like clockwork. I've saved the best news for last. Bioslife Slim also lowers total cholesterol, lowers LDL, Raises HDL, Lowers triglyerides and balances blood sugar levels. All natural, safe and the darn stuff really, really works. I asked my son to take it and he lost 42 pounds, was never on cholesterol meds, but as a policeman they were threatening to declare him unfit for duty because his cholesterol levels were so high. His latest tests came back so amazing that 3 doctors came into the room to ask him what he was doing to accomplish this. If you want any information please contact me at schapkis@aol.com and I will be glad to help you all I can.
Thanks for listening.

Fltgrn, I have read many accounts like yours many times over and over again where the physicians couldn't figure out what was wrong with the patient taking lipitor. The cholesterol lowering business is HUGE BUCKS and nobody really wants to interfere with the incredible cash flow it produces. I would encourage you not to be silent about what happened to you. Sharing your story could save someone else from disaster as not everyone recovers and some are left with permanent injuries.
