I didn't have any side effects either the first couple weeks into the experience. Just some mild cramping and spotting. I am now seven months in and I'm having it removed tomorrow. I have experienced most of the side effects listed on this site but never put it all together until I began to read the stories of these women. I then took the additional step of reading up on the active ingredient in Mirena. It's the same one that was used in Norplant back in the early 1990s. Norplant was taken off the market because of the complaints of side effects identical to those the women here are listing.
I'm glad you short experience has been positive. But be aware of any changes that may come. I didn't notice changes until 5 months along. And the little monster is coming out tomorrow. It just isn't worth it .

You dont normally start having the long term side effects until 2 or 3 months after insertion. I loved mine at first too. This is a multimillion dollar pharaceutical and there are all kinds of articles, commercials, ads, and other campaigns promoting it at all times. They even have all the doctors brainwashed into convincing us that our symptoms have NOTHING to do with the Mirena no matter what. I know some women dont have a problem with it but I think most do and its a matter of time before you start seeing commercials coming out to correct the original assertion and tell the real story about the Mirena just like YAZ is now doing. Well at least you came upon this site and you now know what to look for. I wish I had been so lucky. Instead I had this horrible thing in for 14 months before I discoverd this site and made the connection to the Mirena. Good luck, I hope it works for you,
