I was on Loestrin 24 FE for 11months-I just stopped taking it Feb. 22nd. In the beginning it was ok for me too; I didn't have nause and I knew for the first few months I would take a wile for the cycle to regulate. I hope it continues to work for you. I do believe wwe all know our own body but should pay close attention to any unusual signs. My worse symptoms on this pill began after the fourth month. The hormones began taking me out of my character and I began noticing the following symptms:
mood swings, depression, anxiety, weight loss, hair loss, not sleeping well
After a few months the emotional symptoms did get better; but the hair loss and not sleeping well and the periodic emotional feelings on and off and from noticing the overall change with me since monitoring ho I ws Before and After this pill. The only good thing was I had a regular cycle; 1-2 light days to eventually no cycle-since Oct. So don't be surprised if you miss a cycle; I asked my doctor and this is a symptom as well. Most women eventually won't have a cycle on this pill. I get regular physicals and my blood work is normal-no pregnancy; it's just some women on various BC can experience the "no cycle" timeframe. I feel better that I decided to stop taking this pill-and from research my BC pills have the same symptoms. Some BC may work for many of us but it's about finding what works for you; Loestrin wasn't the pill for me. I'm ready to get my body back to the way I used to feel prior to this pill. I would suggest giving it some time because I did; I didn't want to give up right away. If you start noticing any unusual continuous symptoms please check with your doctor. I wish I had stopped a few months ago. Let me know how you're doing as the months progress. I wish you the best and hope you don't experience any side effects.
sorry about the typos-was rushing and checking in on the site before heading to work....
I just completed my 4th month of Loestrin 24. I too had break through bleeding for the first 3 months but this last month it completely went away! Yey! With every other BC pill I've taken in the past it usually takes me 3-6 months to fully adjust so I would encourage anyone who has spotting to hold on a little longer. I do hate the lack of interest in sex but this seems to happen with every BC pill I try. My biggest concern with this pill is the horrible headaches I get for 1-2 weeks before my period. It is so much worse than with any other pill I've tried. I've also had phlebitis (superficial clots/aches) in my legs and when I attempted to give blood yesterday, my blood clotted and I couldn't even donate a full pint! Needless to say my doctor has advised me to stop and will change to something else. I'm sure this pill is good for some people but not for me. Good luck to those who are doing well with it. Pay attention to all side effects, the risks are too great to ignore them.
I am entering my third week of taking loestrin. my entire second week has been nothing but a heavy brown period. I was wondering if you are still on this BC and if things cleared up for you? I am 17 and its my very first time ever taking anything.
