am a 61 year old male and after a heart attack 7 years ago they put me on Lisinopril. I gained 20 pounds and look pregnant with 8 months of starting it. My stomach looks like I am pregnant. My mother called the other night and said she had symptoms of a stroke. I took her to the emergency room and the doctor looked over her medications and immediately diagnosed Lisinopril as the culprit and it was not a stroke. She stopped taking Lisinopril and immediately the symptoms disappeared and her stomach bloating disappeared. I went to my doctor today and insisted he take me off this poison . Over the last 7 years I have gained over 40 pounds, all in my stomach. I am hoping this does me good.

Hello, my name is Nadine. My husband was put on Lisinopril, after his cardiac arrest (Oct. 2008), along with Lipitor and Plavix. He has been experiencing tiredness, some pain in his thighs and knees, mental sluggishness and some cognitive problems, a cough, drippy nose, coldness in his hands and nose, and his middle (abdomin) looks like he is pregnant. My husband has mentioned these things to his cardiologist, but she says that he needs to go to an allergist and do more excerise. She says that none of his medications are causing these symtoms. After reading the posts at this site, I feel the the Lisinopril is the cause. Has anyone had a similar experience and what do you do when the doctor won't listen to you? Please reply.
