I started the Z-Pak on last Tuesday. and I usually don't have a problem. But this time it's been different. The first 2 days were ok. But lately I don't sleep well. My stomach cramps up and I'm not sure why I feel like i'm getting the flu. My ears are sore. And my throat is killing me, so the bronchitis that it's supposed to be treating, is not going away. My doc said the medicine stays in your system for about 10 days.

I too have had the same problem. Been on Z pack after this horrible flu in WNY that is going around. Ican't taste anything and have the runs all the time. Why bother eating. I can't smell anything or taste anything, I was told ZPack stays in your system for 10 days, this sucks!

I to have never had a reaction to this med and was told it would stay in my system for 10 days from the start of taking the five day dose. After the fifth day developed hives like you cannot imagine. What is worse it seemed everything they gave me made them worse. It has four weeks now since I started the zpak and three since finishing. Hives are gone but I have a constant cough and now have breathing problems, tightness in the chest as if it has cause some sort of breathing or heart disorder. Can anyone confirm having disorders like this after taking the zpak? I know of at least two others who developed hives and/or shingles after taking the pak in 2009. Could there have been a bad batch? Stomach is the same as all who have replied, feels like someone punched me and especially after eating. This does not seem right to me with so many having these problems.
