Am due to have mine replaced next week, but think I'll opt just for removal. I've had abdomen pain, dizziness, shortness of breath and palpitations for the last 6 months... does it's dosage get more erratic as it gets near it's use by date?

The side effects you described have nothing to do with the "use by date." I only had mine for 9 months and had the symptoms you've described and more. I've been Mirena free for 10 months and still not back to normal. Good luck and don't get another. Please!!!!
