My seven year old son has been on Singulair for a year and half. He would get angry but he's a kid...and I didn't think anything of it. Then the headaches and bad dreams....and then he's always talking about death. One day, I wasn't home when he arrived from school and he met me at the door crying....he thought I was dead. But the muscles cramps really got me. He's to young for cramps and waking up with a charley horse. I took him to the clinic and to the ER twice.. and still the doctors don't know why he's getting muscle cramps. So I said...let me go online to find some answers. Well... you know I'm going to his doctor and I threw his bottle of Singulair away. I'm going to start a journal and chart his progress and I'll get back to y'all.

my son was also 7yrs old when i made the discovery that singulair was causing him problems. he had been on singulair for 3 yrs. from our experience, i can tell you that you will see some immediate changes within the first week. it took a full 3 weeks to see the major changes.

it is an amazing journey to see your child recover from these side effects. please keep us posted. i am so happy you discovered this before he suffered years and years on this drug. if you havent already, please visit www.parentsforsafety.org for additional information. if you have any questions, please feel free to private message me....i have been where you are at and i appreciated having someone to chat with who had also experienced taking their child off singulair. good luck to you....prepare to be amazed!

Your son may not be too young for leg cramps; boys grow at different stages. Bananas helped my son,now 26, when he was 10 and would cry from his cramps but when I would give him potassium, it seemed to help. I do think hes too young to be on Singulair though and I could tell u horror stories about what that drug did to me.
Most symptoms of Singulair are behavioral although I'm no expert. I find that pharmacists know more about drugs than the drs do so find a friendly one (a small pharmacy) and dont be afraid to ask anything. That's what they specialized in and if it weren't for mine, I'd still be on Zoloft and having suicidal thoughts! Good luck to your sweetheart son and yourself. Jo
