I began taking Levaquin 500 mgs. once daily for eight days about two weeks ago for treatment of a severe kidney infection. I had a positive experience with the drug. Side effects were mild and included some sleeplessness and mild night sweats. I did make sure I drank a full glass of water when I took the medication, and that I drank liberally throughout the day. I also timed my doses EXACTLY 24 hours apart to minimize any possible effects from toxicity.
