Been reading everyone's postings and now I'm scared. I currently am on Vytorin 10/80 and today the doctor added Welchol. I just had and ACL replacement surgery 4 weeks ago and my leg aches anyhow. I can't remember a time I have not had back pain, and I have arthritis in my joints and neuropathy in my feet. Any yeahs or nahs out there for you experienced ones? Is it worth taking, do you assume all my current pains will only get worse?????

I have RA and was taking Welchol for about a month. I don't know if I can attribute my acute arm pain to welchol, but, funny thing is, I didn't have the arm pain before I took Welchol. I will tell you one thing, though, I was painfully and severely constipated. I had to stop taking Welchol to see if that was the reason and it is. So, instead of taking Welchol, I am dieting to avoid foods with cholesterol. Hope this helps.

I started Welchol on Thursday for slightly high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes, took it twice on Friday and Saturday, then only Sunday am. By then I was having severe chest pain, heartburn, pressure in my chest and I could not swallow. Shortness of breath upon any exertion, and overwhelming fatigue. Today is Monday, so I've missed 3 doses but still feel lethargic, still have heartburn, gas, no appetite. Waiting for the endo to call me back, but there doesn't seem to be any urgency. I will NEVER take this drug again. My shoulder problems have worsened and now I understand from reading all of the posts here that the pain in my left foot could be from this drug. Ugh! I can imagine that I would have been incapacitated if I kept taking this shi...Please read everything you can before you take Welchol, it's dangerous!
