I have taken topomax on and off over twenty years. The worst side effect is the arthritic (painful ache in the joints, hips, and shoulders). I have had to go off the drug many times. This time I use 30 micrograms of prescription strength fish oil. It is fabulous. It helped my depression and many other side effects. My shrink and physician both prescribe it. I use Trilogy fish oil over the internet. It makes a difference to buy quality. Take 8.Unfortunately, after 18 months I am now taking myself off Topomax for awhile , Primarily from the pain in my hips and shoulders. I am on 6 other drugs without any ohter side effects. I will then go back on Topomax with no side effects after a break. Good luck Pam ask any questions

Wow. I got on here becasue I'm having horrible memory problems. (I've been on 100mg of Topomax for a year now). Until reading your message, I'd never really put two and two together regarding my hip pain. It's mainly when I sleep, but it's there. I've getting off the drug. The stupidity and feeling like I have early on-set Alzheimer's is not worth it. Thank you for your help!
