I have only been on Synthroid for 2 months, but my appetite is out of control. I read that gaining weight might be a side effect of Synthroid. You would think that you would lose weight with it since it makes your thyroid run more efficiently. My TSH is 4.3, still normal, so I don't guess I really need it yet. I am going off of it and going to the health food store and take Thyroid support.

What was your t4 or t3 before you started the medicine?
I was 0.44 for my t4 and 3.7 on my tsh, so that makes me HYPOthyroidism.
but they just tested me again since ive been on the medicine for 3 weeks now and im at 0.45 tsh and 1.1 on my t4 so now im normal.
im on 75mcgs

I don't trust Synthroid, and it doesn't take care of T-3, or the adrenals. Thyodine, by greenwillowtree.com, has helped normalize my thyroid, I was hypo. It also helps the adrenals at the same time and it's natural. I've been on it 10 years. I also take a T-3 product called "T-3 Thyroid Booster" by absnutrition.com (which stands for Absolute Nutrition). I start the day on an empty stomach with the Thyodine and the T-3 and then around lunch I take a smaller dose of both. Sometimes I can just tell how I feel if I need more of the T-4, or more of the T-3. L-carnitine is a good supplement as well. Watch out for coffee & colas. Also try a product called DIM, as well as Natural Woman Progesterone Cream, as well as CandiGone.
