I just had the Mirena put in...not sure if I will continue to have the side effects it seems so many have had. I've now had it a week. I'm still cramping, even at night which is making me not sleep well. I have had nausea and headaches but not sure if maybe that is from the lack of sleep. I'm hoping it will get easier. As far as other birth control methods, I was on the Depo shot for over 2 years and was very satisfied. I had no side effects. I only did the Mirena to avoid going to the doctor every 3 months for a shot, and I'm now questioning that decision, BIG TIME! I recommend the Depo shot. If you're not afraid of needles, it's great. Don't have to worry about forgetting your bc since it's a scheduled appointment (always made before you leave the appt you're at), and the doctor usually reminds you of the appointment ahead of time. Cross your fingers that I'm side effect free after a few more days!
