hi, i've only had the mirena 5 months but am already experiencing gallbladder type symptoms but doc can't understand why. he's booked me in for an ultrasound scan 30th march to see whats going on. i have pain on both sides right underneath my ribcage. does that sound similar to yours?

ok ladies as for the gallbladder i would say no effects from the mirena I can't see if it caused it but I had galltones before the mirena and if you don't get it taken out ( if this is what your doctor says ) it will get worse. Mine was so bad that everytime I ate I was going to the hospital. I wasn't getting the rest of the steps taken fast enough before my surgery that it was emergency surgery on my b-day let me tell you not fun and ifeel way better. As for the mirena I got about a year after that i have had no problems till last week. I have had my mirena for 2 years now. Last week I experienced so spotting for a few days the it started again last night. I am just waiting to go see the doctor. I am seriously considering getting it removed now tho.
