In regards to simvastatin side effects. My husband recently started taking simvastatin. He has a noise in the left side of his ear that is extremely annoying for him. The noise is so loud he can't sleep. He has been to ear specialist to no avail, they don't know what it is. Reading your side effects has me concerned that it is the simvastatin. He did get off it for 2 weeks, but the noise in his ear did not stop. I am concerned that it has created permanent damage. The doctor put him back on it. I think it is time to try another cholesterol lowering drug.
