Hi there. I presume you have been diagnosed with undedractive thyroid and unfortunately if you are in the UK there is no other treatment available under the NHS. I have been on lthyroxine for more than 2 years and continue to gain weight despite good effort & also have developed arthritis like symptoms in hips plus an xray proved I also have it in right big toe joint. Some symptoms have improved but I still have numbness (pins & needles ) in hands at night and hissing in ears. Please look up TPA UK as they offer continuous support and possibly through them you may get well.
