I, too, have been having trouble with this antibiotic and Cipro too. They wind up hurting my stomach making it cramping up and deprives me of sleep. I will not take this anymore even though because of a kidney stone I have, I keep getting these UTI's and I am sick of them!
There should be something else that's safer for UTI patients to take.
I know this won't be my last UTI but I won't take this or Cipro anymore.
The medicine makes you feel WORSE than better.
I was reading about some of your side effects and they are starting to worry me. I'm taking Macrobid for UTI (day 4) and I am so nauseous I feel like I'm pregnant! Anyway, I am writing this post to remind people about Clostridium dificile, which can cause sever diarrhea after a course of antibiotics, such as macrobid. My sis got this and had diarrhea for 3 weeks before finally going to see a doctor. She had to go on a different antibiotic to kill the C. dificile. Always take probiotics when on antibiotics and monitor your diarrhea very carefully - don't let it go on for too long because C. dif can be life-threatening.
